Yes that is a Chevrolet badge on a Subaru Forester. No, that’s not a photoshop. When the second gen Forester debuted, GM owned a stake in Fuji Heavy Industries. They saw this as an opportunity to get their grubby little hands into a new market with no effort of their own, and thus India received a Chevrolet Forester.

Haha, thanks for keeping the tag alive! I’ll get back to it after college apps; I promise! In the meantime, take a stab at these:

Headlight regulations.
In fact, on second look, there is a bunch of stuff they clearly had to change for it to meet Japanese regulations. It makes me wonder how much is different that we can’t see.

I love this generation Forrester yet I despise it with that friggin gold bowtie. It is just hideous. I’m a blue oval type.

Daewoo was sold to GM, so I can’t count them. For that matter, Daewoo had nothing on Kia prior to their sale.
After a little research, Suzuki does appear to beat out Subaru on this front. I knew they did some badge engineering for GM, but I wasn’t aware of the extent to which they do outside the US for others.
Fuji Heavy/Subaru is probably the most mainstream brand to do it at the moment. Toyota is also up there, though.

I don’t think the Mazda 2/Toyabaru/Neu Supra count though because they were co-developed rather than outright rebadged.
